The peaceful countryside of the Artois region is especially suited to those who enjoy peace and tranquillity, and are looking for activities that are in harmony with nature. Outings (on foot, mountain bike, horseback or in a canoe), golf, lake fishing, gliding, windsurfing, diving or microlighting, etc, are all available and can be enjoyed in peace and quiet.
Hiking
Over 100 hiking trails cover the Artois region, and they are the best way of discovering the mosaic of landscapes that make up the natural wealth of the Artois region.
Two circuits allow you to discover Arras, its architectural splendour and its gardens.
Leave Arras via the Scarpe and discover the lakes surrounded by poplar trees, the same landscapes that were dear to Verlaine, Corot and other painters from the Arras school. Cross the Gy, Cojeul, Crinchon, and Kilienne…and discover a rural heritage that has been preserved (barns, pigeon lofts and farms, etc) and will surprise you at every turn. The Artois region is also full of green hills and white stone villages.
Between Arras and Bapaume, cultivated open countryside is scattered with numerous cemeteries, which bear witness to the soldiers killed during the First World War.

White Water Stadium

The white water stadium outdoor leisure and water sports centre was built on industrial wasteland at the heart of the Val de Scarpe nature park.
